1573 Bar & Grill

Situated in one of the oldest school buildings in England, The Old (Free) Grammar School built in 1573 is now home to 1573 Bar & Grill – a fresh new concept for dining and drinks at Highcross. Regular chef’s specials are available across the menus, while promotional offers tempt throughout the week. Visit to enjoy great food in the lovely surroundings of a Grade II* listed building.

The kitchen prepares sizzling steaks, fresh seafood, a range of salads and plenty of vegetarian dishes. The traditional interior features ambient lighting, wooden furnishings and exposed brickwork while a terrace offers outdoor seating and views of Highcross.

The White Peacock

Independently owned and passionately operated, The White Peacock offers an affordable luxury of modern British & International cuisine with fine wines and cocktails and a bespoke service to compliment. Located in a charming Grade 2 listed building at the foot of New Walk in the heart of Leicester, they combine unique food and drink, great location with expressive décor.

The White Peacock restaurant offers formal lunch and dinner in a relaxing ambience and passionate staff on hand to care for you from the moment you step in. They also cater for exclusive hire for celebrations, weddings, private dining and corporate meetings.

Black Iron

Black Iron is a modern restaurant, steakhouse and bar, celebrating the very best of British. Tucked away in leafy parkland at Winstanley House, an imposing Georgian grade II listed hotel and venue, Black Iron prides itself on it’s amazing team, great food and drink and faultless surroundings.

The centrepiece of Black Iron is their charcoal-fired oven, which treats the premium produce on offer with the first-class cooking method it deserves. Their locally sourced dishes harken back to the way food used to be prepared; cooking over fire is a primitive technique that lets the top-quality ingredients speak for themselves.
